netDocShare Tree View User Guide

Add a Webpart
Open a SharePoint page:
Edit the SharePoint Webpart
Click on Add a new Webpart in column one
Now add a netDocShare Viewer Webpart
Once the netDocShare Viewer Webpart is added
Click on Edit webpart to input your netDocShare Configuration Object.
Click on Open Config Builder and add a netDocShare View Config
Please refer to the Tree View Config User Guide for the Config Settings process
Tree View
For Example, in Config Settings User can configure in Tree View all fields as shown below:
View Type – Tree
NetCode – Disable
Compact Mode – Disabled
Show ndThread – Enable
Show ndTasks - Enable
Show Logo – Hide
Show Logout -Hide
Source Type – Cabinet
Cabinet - Here User can select cabinet based on their requirement for results view
Workspace Content Display - Here User can select all options based on their requirement for results view
Show Workspace Name – Enable
Tree View Table Display – Show All
Show Parent Container Info - Hide
Action Buttons – Here User can select all buttons based on their requirement for results view.
Search Behaviour – Search All
Search In – Everything
Default Sort Property – Selected a Name
Context Menu Options – Here User can select all buttons based on their requirement for results view
Populate Mandatory Profile Fields – Disabled.
Context Menu Size – Here user can select option to view in results document small or medium or large.
CDN Base Url – Please refer to the tree view config settings
Use Service Based Authentication – Enabled
Asset Path – Here user can add input based on their asset changes path.
Authentication Page Behavior – Redirect
Default Click Behavior – Profile on NetDocuments (Default)
Use Auto Refresh – Disabled
Enhance Multi Webpart Loading – Disabled.
Once above config values saved it will navigate into SharePoint page webpart looks like this check below image

Search Process

If user selects Search button, based on ‘search behavior’ and ‘search in fields’ search bar will enable a user to search for a keyword in the webpart.

Filter Process

By Clicking on the Filter Icon user will enable column-based filter options. Based on the filters selected the user can search for an absolute search term and select a file.

Upload Process
Click on Cabinet– Folder will be viewed

In Folder level users can Create New Folders and Documents, and Upload Files or Folders. (ppt,excel,word)

Create New Folder
  • Click on Create Folder and popup will be displayed.
  • Folder Name Textbox will appear. Confirmation button will be disabled until a folder name is entered.
  • Click on Confirm New Folder. Success Toaster message will appear when folder is created.
Create New Document
  • Click on Create New Document and a popup will be displayed.
  • The Document Name Textbox will appear and a Documents Format will need to be selected (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Confirmation button will be disabled until a document name is entered.
  • Click on Confirm button à When new document is created, a success Toaster Message will appear.
  • Once a properly formatted document is created. (i.e: Word or PPT or Excel) Edit Profile popup will appear.
Upload File:
  • Once user clicks File Upload, a popup will be displayed
  • Drag and drop a file/folder into File Upload popup.
  • Click on image to open file explorer .
  • Once file is uploaded -> Upload button will be enabled.
  • Once FILE (Example: we are adding single Docx file with drag and Drop option) is uploaded, user will receive the update shown below.
Refresh Process
  • If user clicks on the Refresh button in Config, the entire webpart data is refreshed.
Export Process
  • If user selects the Export button in Config, the overall data will be exported in an excel file.
Download Process
  • If User selects the download button in Config, user will be able to download a selected document or file.
Context Menu Option

Context Menu determines what options will appear in the dropdown context menu that is opened from clicking the “…” button beside each document. The ‘contextMenu’ can be disabled by completely removing the key and value from the config object. Users can add other options indicated in the list below:

“checkin”,”checkout”,”rename”,”view”,”viewNetDoc”,”delete”,”lockVersion”,”secureLink”,”follow”, “checkinNew”,”changeVersion” ShapeIf you omit the values for ``contextMenu``, the webpart will select the default options of “open” and “preview”. This can be changed by editing the JSON manually or picking the values from the corresponding dropdown menus in the config Builder. Please see an example of the context menu with all options turned on below:.

  • Download – User can download a particular file.
  • Delete - User can delete a particular file only.
  • Rename File – User can change their file name.
  • Favorites – User can add their files in favorite list items.
  • Check in/Check out - User can Check in and Check out a file. Once Checked out file will be locked and other users can’t Download, Preview document, View in Browser, Add to My Favorites or Check In.
  • Preview Document - User can preview a document.
  • View In Browser – User can view the document in a separate tab in a browser.
  • Edit Profile - User can edit profile details in a popup custom attribute.
  • Co-Authoring – User can share documents with external and internal users. When co- authoring starts the members with whom the document has been shared can access file and edit, view and update. Once co-authoring is stopped they no longer can access the document.
  • Lock Version – If user locks a currently being edited/worked on document, that will be permanent. In that version it cannot be edited or unlocked.
  • Get Secure Link – This requires that the “Get Secure Link” option is turned on in the user’s NetDocuments cabinet administration options. It should be on by default. This will open a full-screen browser preview without navigating to NetDocuments.
  • Email Link - If user needs a file’s particular destination in NetDocuments user can select email link to share the file link with others.
  • Follow – If user needs to share a document with another user, user can use this follow option.
  • Create New Version – user can update the document version.
  • Margin Notes – Preview the document in a new dialog box with the same browser tab.
  • Open in Microsoft Office – Based on the file extension (Word, PPT or Excel) file will open in a new tab.
Co-Authoring

Co-authoring is possible only at the Document level on

  • As per the image above, in a co-authoring popup a user can select a file name that has options with To and Comment
  • Click Co-Author in context menu, Co-Authoring popup will appear with the selected file attached.
  • To: Enter the email address of the intended authors.
  • When completed click the “+” Icon
  • Comments: Attaches a message to the authors selected in the ‘To’ section
  • Click Start Co-Author
  • If successful, users will see the Shared Icon next to file.
Edit Profile
  • Once a document is created with ‘Create New Document’ or a document is uploaded with Upload Folders/ File, an edit profile popup will open.
  • It’s based on configuration settings of Mandatory Edit Profile.
  • If Mandatory Edit Profile is enabled (True). Metadata for document will not be auto populated and document cannot be uploaded until fields are filled out.
  • If Mandatory Edit Profile is disabled (False) document will upload and edit profile popup will auto populate the required fields. However, User can still edit these fields.
Mandatory Edit Profile is Disabled
  • Auto Populate a Document Name.

Saved profile values will be updated based on input.
